Police Looking for Hit and Run Driver that Hurt ABC 6 Reporter

SOUTH COLUMBUS (Ben Garbarek) -- An ABC 6 reporter is rushed to the hospital after being mowed down by a car while covering a story.

Police are looking for the alleged driver, 27 year-old Teresa E. Peters.

ABC 6 Reporter Steve Levine is being treated at Grant Medical Center.  His leg is broken in three places, but thankfully he's expected to be okay.

The assault happened off Heff Avenue near South High Street in South Columbus around 6:30 Tuesday night.  Steve was working on a hidden camera investigation involving the alleged driver.

Steve confronted the woman as she got into her car.  The woman started backing up even though the driver's door was still open.  Steve's leg was pinned under the car.  The driver took off.

The driver was last seen in a light blue Honda Accord with Connecticut license plates OADGJ2.

The hunt for Peters continues.  She is being charged with felonious assault.
