ABC 6 Investigates: Accused Crooked Contractor Finally Arrested

COLUMBUS (Tom Sussi) -- It took 17 months, but the law finally caught up with one of Central Ohios most notorious crooked contractors. Glenn Goddard was arrested in Birmingham, Alabama after the Delaware County Sheriffs Office received a tip the Pickerington man was in Birmingham for a spa and hot tub show.

Goddard faces at least five felony fraud and theft charges in Delaware and Franklin counties. In one of those cases, hes accused of forging $10,000 worth of checks belonging to one of his customers. On top of that, the state Attorney Generals Office has a $100,000 judgment against him for jobs Goddard didnt start or finish.

ABC 6 Investigators learned Goddard fled Ohio last February and went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he sold hot tubs. Police say he lived with a woman in a small apartment, and went by the name of Steve Thomas.

Before Goddard changed his address and name, he owned Bee Improvements in Reynoldsburg.

Goddard is expected to be extradited back to Ohio within the next two weeks.
