Comment: Its about thime from Columbus, ohio by Jim
Comment: To enshrine a private gambling monopoly in the state constitution would be a mistake. I've voted against this issue three times and tmw will make four. from Columbus, OH by Stanley
Comment: yes this should be approved. had it been approved before now our economy wouldn't be in the fix it is and our schools wouldn't be hurting as bad. the scare tactics being used by those against are just unfounded from marion, ohio by sue
Comment: why not....lets keep the money here instead of it going out of state all the time. from Zanesville, Ohio by Rick
Comment: iTS TIME TO GET SOME JOBS IN OUR STATE, INSTEAD OF OUR GOVERNER SITTING DOING NOTHING from SOMERSET OHIO, OHIO by MARGIE
Comment: I'd rather spend my $$ in Ohio; not a neighboring state. Due to the economy, Ohio very badly needs the jobs & money. There are pros and cons to every issue put before voters. I have my opinion and also value others' opinions. I vote YES. from Cambridge, Ohio by S
Comment: I am opposed to the state endorsing gambling for revenue. I am opposed to amending the Ohio State Constitution. I think NO one really knows what good can come of this if passed. Illinois has casino gambling and are in a terrible financial mess. from Columbus, Ohio by Joan
Comment: I think we need something to boast the Columbus area. As a matter of fact the City center would have been a perfect place for a casino. Also, all the crap they are saying against casinos are exactly that "CRAP" from , Ohio by Debbie
Comment: I believe that casinos will bring additional crime to our State. Families are already fighting for jobs and those who have jobs may lose them due to gambling and other games of chance. It may bring jobs and more taxes, which are sorely needed but at whose expense? Casinos are sure to bring with them misery to many Ohio families; ie. violence, drugs, prostitution--the very social issues that hurt citizens. NOT a good thing. from Reynoldsburg, Ohio by Joan
Comment: With the number of people out of work, I don't believe that any opportunity to put some of the out of work Ohioians to work should be welcomed. from Reynoldsburg, Ohio by Sheila
Comment: 1)Casinos create societal problems that cost us more than the taxes they bring in. 2)The tax rates in this amendment are significantly lower than other states' (it was written by the casino owners). 3)If we want casinos, WE need to write the amendment ourselves. from Westerville, ohio by Nancy
Comment: pEOPLE WHO WANT TO GO TO CASINOS WILL GO OUT OF STATE IF NECESSARY AND TAKE OHIO MONEY WITH THEM from LEWIS CENTER, OH by Ann
Comment: It is time that we brought casinos to Ohio. I have been to West Virginia and Indiana to gamble and I think it is time for Ohions to spend our money here. Its time for a change. It will generate alot of much needed money for Ohio. from Hilliard, Ohio by Ed
Comment: The jobs created would be of minimal benefit compared to the crime, addiction and degradation of neighborhoods known to accompany new casinos. from Athens, Ohio by John
Comment: i really don't think the casinos will bring in the money they say and knowing the problems the casino's will bring its not worth it from mt vernon, ohio by nancy
Comment: The casinos would certainly jump-start our economy. By the way - it's Issue 3 from Groveport, Ohio by Joanne
Comment: This is ISSUE 3 NOT 2. I think it would be a great draw for conventions and visitors. from Columbus, ohio by Pamela
Comment: Job creation from , Ohio by Archie
Comment: I think it will boost revenue for the state. from Marysville, Ohio by Mary
Comment: I don't care how much money it will bring in. It is wrong. Those who don't have good impulse control and who gamble will eventually be hurt-financially, emotionally, socially. Our cities will gain crime, prostitution, and lives will be devalued. These are hard things to admit. It is easier to be in denial about what addiction can do. Stop this insidiousness before hearts and lives are damaged. from Lancaster, OH by Linda
Comment: Building casinos will destroy so many families... from Newark, Ohio by Autumn
Comment: We need to keep the money in Ohio. and they willlbring added money from out of state vistors from Grove City, Ohio by Harold
Comment: It is issue 3 not 2...and yes as my parents are in their 50's and travel at least 6 times a year to casinos outside our home state which is Ohio...I am definitly voting to keep them and their friends here in Ohio for entertainment which is what they consider it being non drinking and non smoking family members. from Dublin, Ohio by Amanda
Comment: We don't need the crime that goes with these places. from columbus, ohio by James
Comment: Has it helped the schools in the other states? from columbus, Ohio by Mark
Comment: I would vote for the casinos today if I was promised to have my school district taxes lowered significantly! from Marysville, OHIO by Claude
Comment: The state of Ohio needs two things badly money and jobs. Our local communities also need additional revenue. Casinos may not be the perfect solution, but it will bring both. Also, with the availbeity of casinos in states boarding Ohio we need to keep our money within the state taht we are currently loseing to other states.
Comment: this will bring more jobs to ohio.there is alot of people out of jobs............... from , ohio by Dave
Comment: Seems to me that most people forget that local business' would benefit. All food type i.e anything consumable by all vistors. From toilet paper to fabulous meals local suppliers would benefit, thus creating more jobs, distribution services for a start. Ongoing maintenance would be from plumbers, electricians, hotel staff and others in the service industry. Revenue to the 88 counties might offset tax increases to support education - More and more individuals 50's and up have to sell their properties as they can no long afford the property taxes. So much for the American Dream! Emmployees might be able to buy a home whether the work for a casino, or other business' that would start to build up due to supporting the casino. The list is endless. Our State Constitution has been amended many times. If something does not work out for the revenue from the Casino's it can be changed again. What is everyone's fear. The biggest complainers are the ones who go to Vegas, and religious groups. What hippocrites. Maybe Churches should be taxed and this may not be to far off. Our Ohio motto should be - "The next Puritan State: What a joke. from Dublin, OH by Bob
Comment: Just like the ad that is against it, the devil is in the details, he feeds you lies that sounds to good to be true. from Columbus, OH by James

Comment: Gambling preys on those who can least afford it from columbus, ohio by ed
Comment: I think citizens should vote yes because it would create jobs for the many people who got layed off. Also, it would generate money in Ohio. from Grove City, OH by Amber
Comment: no because then the horse tracks will not have slots no other vendor will have slots and it may bring thousands of jobs to ohio but one company that goes under is the same amount of layoffs that it would bring, and the money isnt staying in ohio its going to people from another state from Grove City, ohio by jennifer
Comment: it would hurt the economy further from pataskala, ohio by darren
Comment: The commercials have been lieing the casinos will not create 34,000 jobs. That is counting the construction workers who will only work for a couple of months. Also the casinos will kill many of the racetracks in Ohio. from lockbourne, ohio by zach
Comment: yes they should ohio needs more jobs here and i belivie that this would help this state out very much so. from marysville, ohio by brad
Comment: About time, all the surrounding states have them and it keep me from traveling to Michigan and Indiana. Plus it keeps the money in Ohio and create jobs. from columbus, ohio by carl
Comment: THE MAIN ISSUE HERE IS JOBS WHICH ARE DESPERATELY NEEDED IN OHIO from WESTERVILLE, ohio by herb
Comment: If we had casinos here we would not have to drive so far to go to ones that are out of state. It would also bring more money into Ohio. from Westerville, OHIO by Kim
