JAY-Z: ANNOUNCES MUSIC FESTIVAL FOR PHILADELPHIA
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Jay-Z may be a proud product of the gritty Bed-Sty neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. But he also has a soft spot for the City of Brotherly Love. And because of that, the rap icon is setting up a two-day music festival for Philadelphia. It will be Labor Day weekend -- September 1 and 2. There will be nearly 30 acts as part of the event. Jay-Z says he has signed many acts hailing from Philadelphia -- and that the city "felt like a natural fit" for the festival. He says 70 percent of the acts are confirmed, and will include rap, rock, R&B, Latin and dance artists.
Jay-Z says he wants his two-day music festival in Philadelphia to be something to remember.

BOBBY BROWN: THE HEALING PROCESS
NEW YORK (AP) -- Bobby Brown says he's trying to heal himself through his music. And it's been a long healing process, seeing that it has taken him 14 years between this album and his last one. The new album is called "Masterpiece" -- and he says the music focuses on what he says he has "been through throughout my life." Brown became popular as a star with New Edition and later went solo. But drug abuse led to his musical downfall -- and his rocky marriage to Whitney Houston didn't help his image, either.
Bobby Brown says he never embraced the title of "King of R&B," which was given him by his late ex-wife Whitney Houston.
BOBBY BROWN: ON HIS "TODAY" SHOW INTERVIEW
NEW YORK (AP) -- Bobby Brown says he went on the air -- to clear the air about what fans thought about his relationship with Whitney Houston. Brown says he did a recent "Today" show interview to "clear the air about what everyone was feeling about my ex-wife's death." During the interview, Brown denied he got Whitney hooked on drugs -- saying she was already using heavy drugs when he met her. Houston's singing career was ruined by drug use, which became known during her marriage to Brown. Houston died in February at a Beverly Hills, California hotel. Authorities say she drowned in a bathtub in a death complicated by heart disease and cocaine use.
BERLIN (AP) -- Will Smith isn't part of President Barack Obama's re-election campaign team. But for the second time in recent weeks, the actor has come to the defense of one of Obama's controversial policies. Smith says he supports Obama's position on gay marriage. Speaking in Berlin, Smith says the question of whether gays should be allowed to marry legally is one "about semantics." And he says if a person can find love in their life, he supports that "in any shape or form." But he says for Obama to come out in support of gay marriage is "a "brave" move in an election year. Smith is in Berlin to promote his film "Men in Black III," which opened yesterday in Germany.
MICHAEL JACKSON: OUTFITS GOING ON TOUR
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- They've been on tour before. But this time, the glittery gloves, fancy jackets and other stage costumes Michael Jackson wore during his shows will be making the circuit without him. Celebrity auctioneer Darren Julien says items created by Jackson's longtime costume designers will be exhibited in South America, Europe and Asia. After the tour, the items will be sold to the highest bidder in December. The exhibit opens next week at a museum in Santiago, Chile. Among the items that will be making the rounds will be Jackson's Captain EO shirt, the black spandex outfit from his "Scream" video -- and the breakaway suit he wore during his BAD tour in the late 1980s.

DONALD DRIVER: SCORING ON "DANCING WITH THE STARS"
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Will Donald Driver make it to the top three on "Dancing With the Stars"? We'll find out tonight. The scores were tightly grouped last night. Driver was just two points off leader Maria Menounos, after two routines. The Green Bay Packers receiver is still looking for his first 10 from head judge Len Goodman. But he got 10s from the other two judges after his second dance of the evening. Katherine Jenkins trailed on the judges' leaderboard last night, after she was apparently injured on her second dance.

TRACY MORGAN: A LAST HURRAH WITH "30 ROCK"
NEW YORK (AP) -- In or out? When it comes to the NBC sitcom "30 Rock," for a while it seemed not even its own network knew. Within the space of four days, NBC officials said the show was going away, then denied it -- then confirmed the show was going away. While the network now finally says the show will be axed after 13 episodes next season, it will continue working with show creator Tina Fey on future projects.
"AMERICAN IDOL," "X FACTOR" TO GET CHANGES
NEW YORK (AP) -- When "American Idol" airs its season finale in a couple a weeks -- take a close look: there's a chance parts of the show -- or some of the people on it -- may change before it airs again. Fox says it will tweak the singing competition -- but isn't saying how. A Fox official says the moves will be made in an effort to boost viewership for the show, which had a bigger than usual dropoff this season. The judges' panel stayed the same from last season, after the deck was shuffled in recent years with the departures of Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Paula Abdul. But Fox insists there is still lots of life left in the "Idol" franchise.
Meanwhile, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are joining the judging panel on "The X Factor." Those changes will take effect with the fall season.

The event has raised more than $70 million since launching in Cannes in 1993.

CHRIS BOSH: TIMING FOR HEAT STAR'S RETURN TO LINEUP UNCERTAIN
MIAMI (AP) -- It could have been worse. But it's still bad for Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat. The Heat star strained a lower abdominal muscle during Game 1 of the series between Miami and the Indiana Pacers. The team says Bosh is out indefinitely, even as coach Erik Spoelstra and others said the injury could have been worse. Bosh is definitely out for Game 2 and likely beyond. Bosh himself is suggesting he won't be ready until the Heat get to the next round -- assuming they get past the Pacers.
TRAYVON MARTIN: THE "DISCOVERY" CHANNEL
MIAMI (AP) -- It's called "discovery." And it's the legal term for the defense team in a criminal case getting its hands on the evidence prosecutors have turned up as they investigate before going to trial. The attorney for the man who killed unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin now has received the discovery material in the case. It consists of 67 CDs and a package of witness statements. The package also includes tapes of 911 calls, photos, video medical records and other potential bits of evidence in the Martin case. Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge in the February 26 shooting. Zimmerman says he shot Martin in self-defense.
