IN THE NEWS: FACEBOOK ROLLS OUT NEW SECURITY FEATURE
NEW YORK (AP) -- Facebook has launched a new security feature. It will allow users to log out of their accounts remotely from another computer. The social networking site will be phasing in the new feature over the next couple of weeks. To use it, users go to "account settings" on their Facebook page and click on the button "change" next to "account security." That will show you where your Facebook account is logged in -- and to log out of any of them, click "end activity."
IN THE NEWS: JUROR WHO COMMENTED ON FACEBOOK ORDERED TO WRITE ESSAY
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) -- The Detroit-area juror who blabbed about an ongoing case on Facebook has gotten her punishment: doing more writing. The judge has ordered Hadley Jons to write a five-page essay about the constitutional right to a fair trial. In addition, the woman was fined $250. The punishment comes about three weeks after the juror wrote on Facebook that it was "gonna be fun to tell the defendant they're GUILTY." The post was discovered by the defense team -- before the defense had even started its case. Jons was removed from the jury the next day. The Facebook post was found by the teenage son of the defendant's lawyer.
ON THE WEB: WHAT'S IN THE KITCHEN WITH DINAH?
CYBERSPACE (AP) -- Sure, you shake your head when you hear about some local eatery failing a health inspection. But could YOUR kitchen cut the mustard when it comes to the same kind of test? A new study indicates that one in seven home kitchens would flunk the kind of health inspection restaurants usually get. Wanna find out if your home is cleaner than the your typical "greasy spoon?" Take the test, which is posted on the website of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
