Dodgers storm out to game-3 win

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Dodgers scored early and often to beat Philadelphia 7-2 in game three of the National League Championship Series.

Los Angeles batted around in the first inning and scored five runs, capped off by rookie second baseman Blake DeWitt's bases-loaded triple with two outs.

Rafael Furcal singled and scored the first run of that frame, and then led off the second with a homer to left.

Phillies starter Jamie Moyer was rocked for six runs in just an inning and a-third of work. L-A starter Hiroki Kuroda breezed through six-plus innings of work, giving up just two runs on five hits to get the win. The Phillies still lead the series 2 games to 1.

Game four of the series is Monday night in Los Angeles. The Phillies plan to send Joe Blanton to the hill against the Dodgers' Derek Lowe.

Rays, Red Sox get back to work

BOSTON (AP) -- The American League Championship Series resumes Monday afternoon in Boston. Jon Lester toes the rubber for the Red Sox against Tampa Bay's Matt Garza.

The two teams played 11 innings Saturday night before the Rays escaped with a 9-8 win that evened the series at one game apiece.

Chargers storm past New England

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Philip Rivers torched the New England defense through the air, throwing for 306 yards and hitting three different teammates for touchdowns to guide the Chargers to an easy 30-10 win over the Patriots.

Malcolm Floyd had three receptions for 75 yards and caught the first touchdown pass from Rivers. Vincent Jackson led the way by hauling in five receptions for 134 yards and another touchdown.

Patriots quarterback Matt Cassell was 22-of-38 for 203 yards. He was sacked four times and intercepted once. The Pats fall to 3-and-2, while the Chargers even their record at 3-and-3.

Elsewhere in the NFL:

Arizona's Monty Beisel recovered a blocked punt in the end zone 1 minute into overtime and the Cardinals beat the Dallas Cowboys 30-24. Dallas sent the game to overtime with Nick Folk's 52-yard field goal at the end of regulation. Folk's first attempt was blocked but the play was whistled dead when Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt called timeout just before the ball was snapped. Folk made good on the second try.

Maurice Jones-Drew ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns as Jacksonville beat the Denver Broncos 24-17. Jaguars Quarterback David Garrard was just as good, throwing for 276 yards and a touchdown. Jay Cutler tossed two touchdown passes for Denver, which drops to 4-2.

Philadelphia scored 23 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to beat the San Francisco 49ers 40-26. Donovan McNabb threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns, while David Akers kicked three of his four field goals in that fourth-quarter rally.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers ran for a touchdown late in the first half and threw two touchdown passes in the second to lead the Packers by the Seahawks 27-17. Rodgers finished 21-of-30 for 208 yards.

The Tampa Bay Buccanneers made a resounding statement in the NFC South with a 27-3 win over the Carolina Panthers. The Bucs' special teams got things going early when rookie Geno Hayes blocked a punt and returned it 22 yards for Tampa Bay's first touchdown. The two teams are tied with the Atlanta Falcons atop the South with 4-and-2 records.

Atlanta picked up its fourth win of the season when Jason Elam nailed a 48-yard field goal with no time left to beat the Chicago Bears 22-20. It was the last of five field goals Elam kicked for Atlanta, after it appeared as though the Bears had pulled off a late rally. Kyle Orton's 17-yard touchdown pass put Chicago up by a point with just 11 seconds left.

Washington's 4-game winning streak has been snapped. The previously winless St. Louis Rams got a game winning 49-yard field from Josh Brown on the last play of the game as they edged the Redskins 19-17.

The Cincinnati Bengals remain winless. The Bengals dropped their sixth straight game with a 26-14 loss to the Jets at Giants Stadium. Thomas Jones ran for two touchdowns for the Jets, and also caught a pass from Brett Favre for a score as the Jets improved to 3-and-2.

Like Cincinnati, the Detroit Lions are still winless on the 2008 season. The Lions were dumped by Minnesota 12-10 as Ryan Longwell connected on a 26-yard field goal with 9 seconds to go. The loss drops the Lions to 0-and-5.

The Houston Texans got their first win of the season by beating Miami 29-28. Matt Schaub won the game for the Texans with a 3-yard touchdown run on a quarterback draw with 3 seconds left. The Dolphins had taken the lead with 1:45 left when Ronnie Brown scored on a run from six yards out.

It was a new coach, but the same old results for the Oakland Raiders in a 34-3 loss to New Orleans. The Saints walked all over the Tom Cable-led Raiders. Drew Brees threw for 320 yards and 3 touchdowns.

It was like old times for Peyton Manning and the Colts. He threw two touchdown passes to Marvin Harrison and a third to Reggie Wayne and Indianapolis beat Baltimore 31-3. The Colts got the win despite losing running back Joseph Addai to a hamstring injury in the first quarter.

Browns unlikely to have tight end back

UNDATED (AP) -- Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow has been released from a hospital after a four-day stay for tests and evaluation related to an undisclosed illness. In light of that news, the Browns have downgraded the Pro Bowler from questionable to doubtful for Monday night's game against the New York Giants.

Winslow was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic on Thursday after feeling ill for several days.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will undergo more tests on his knee.

The Seahawks' three-time Pro Bowl quarterback was inactive for Sunday's loss to Green Bay, after he was listed as questionable.

Third-string quarterback Charlie Frye got his first start since week one of last year because backup Seneca Wallace is also hurting.

Last week Hasselbeck said he has a bone bruise from getting hit early in the Oct. 5 loss at the New York Giants. The Seahawks have been calling it a hyperextended knee, and coach Mike Holmgren says an MRI taken early last week revealed no structural damage.

Penner comes through for Edmonton

UNDATED (AP) -- Oiler left wing Dustin Penner scored a pair of third-period goals, including the game winner with six seconds left to lift Edmonton 3-2 over Colorado.

Milan Hejduk had tied the game for the Avalanche with a penalty shot half-way through the third period. Mathieu Garon stopped 31 shots for the Oilers.

Elsewhere on the ice, Shane Doan scored a pair of goals for Phoenix, including once on the power play, and the Coyotes skated past Anaheim 4-2.

The Ducks lost despite outshooting Phoenix 35-to-24.

Lukas Kaspar scored his first NHL goal and Brian Boucher made 21 saves to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 1-0 victory over the Los Angles Kings. Kaspar's goal came midway through the second period.

NBA ponders regular season games in Europe

LONDON (AP) -- NBA commissioner David Stern says the league will likely play regular-season games in London before the city hosts the 2012 Summer Olympics, but it's not a done deal.

Stern says it's not unreasonable to think the league will play at least one and possibly more regular-season games there by 2012.

Stern sees the Olympics as a springboard to increasing the NBA's marketability in Britain, which is one of the richest countries in the world.

Three players tied for third at 7-under, Ben Crenshaw, Jeff Sluman and Price.

The win was Weibring's fifth in six years on the Champions Tour, and one of the most significant of his career. He was 0-for-39 in major tournaments on the PGA Tour and 0-for-25 on the 50-and-over circuit.

Johnson wins in the Alamo town

SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Zach Johnson, the winner of the 2007 Masters, finished first in the Texas Open. He shot a final round 6-under 64 to finish 19 shots under par, 2 in front of Charlie Wi, Mark Wilson and Tim Wilkinson. Jeff Overton completed play four shots back at 15-under par.

Kim in front

DANVILLE, Calif. (AP) -- South Korea's In-Kyung Kim has won her first LPGA tournament, taking the Longs Drugs Challenge by three-strokes over Angela Stanford.

Kim shot a 1-over 73, but ended her winning round with a pair of birdies to finish 10-under for the tournament.
