MOTHER, STEPFATHER NOW CHARGED IN BOY'S DEATH

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Two grieving families looked on Friday morning as a judge at Franklin County Courthouse arraigned the man accused of beating his 4-year-old stepson to death.

John J. Reeves is charged with the aggravated murder of Lawrence King III -- a mentally challenged young boy. Kings mother, Nikkie Reeves, also appeared in court Friday on charges of child endangering.

A 911call led police officers to finding King badly beaten at the Reeves' apartment in southeast Columbus about midnight Thursday.
